Prairie Center Residency: Final day, moving the pig: 12.05.2012

I drove back to Peoria this morning to do the final install. We first put the pig on this roller thing. Then rolled him down a ramp, carried him down the street. . .
And then got him stuck in a doorway. We had to take the door off. BUT IT WORKED.

Prairie Center Residency: 12.03.2012 earlier in the day . . .

So, I drove back to Peoria after noon on Monday and stopped at Do It Best in Champaign before I left. I wanted to color-match myself and though their machine's don't do it, we did find a good approximation. Here are my tests.

I also ended up buying a quart of a pinkish color that I didn't end up using. I wish I had but I ran out of time. I may do this in the future, for ears and stuff. ??

Not bad, though, right? I feel like that's a pretty "me" color?

Prairie Center Residency: 12.03.2012

The pig is finished! At 3:30 am, I got the last coat of fleshy paint on him. DONE DONE DONE!! Actually, I think I finished before 3:30 but then did cleaning up, and maniacal cleaning and packing at home because it's hard to sleep after gearing up to finish something like this.

Prairie Center Residency: 11.27.2012

Today was supposed to be "Last Day Carving." I almost made it, but by like 10:00, I had such a headache (not going to lie, might have been because of the dust) that I decided it wasn't worth it. I have actually been really bad about protecting myself from the dust, because the clothes I am wearing are saturated in it and the mask and goggles have been forgotten even though they clearly shouldn't be. :\ So anyway, that having been said, I made pretty good progress by working the entire day more or less straight through.
